It still works, right after the spill
This is the most dangerous state, because it feels like nothing happened. Corrosion starts immediately and keeps going whether or not the machine is on.

Power off and no charging
The single most useful thing you can do before bringing it in: shut it down and do not plug it in to test. Powering a wet board is what turns a cleanable board into a dead one.

Full strip-down and inspection
Board out, shields off, everything under a microscope. We need to see where the liquid actually travelled, not where it went in.

Ultrasonic clean and corrosion removal
Chemical cleaning of the affected sections, then corrosion removal on pads and components that can be saved.
